And So It Begins

Tomorrow, April 3rd, Abby and I are heading out of Quartzsite, Arizona, in search of cooler weather and beautiful country. First, a short visit with my sister, Nancy and her husband, Robert, on their own journey from Arkansas to California. We decided to meet in Flagstaff— definitely cooler than Quartzsite! After visiting a couple days, we’ll head on farther north and across the state line.

We’re leaving in the nick of time; this week’s weather will really begin cooking!

If that weren’t enough, this little critter visited our camp yesterday. He said, “chilly weather we’re having (84° today!), but not to worry next week will really be nice!” And beside that I’ve been told if you see one of these lizards, you can be assured that the snakes are out as well!

So Abby and I are heading north. First into Utah to check out their Mighty Five National Parks, then we’ll slide a bit east into Colorado (whose mountainous area is six times the size of Switzerland—amazing!).

By the way, do you like omens? This beauty appeared a few days ago.

I’m not expecting to find a pot o’ gold on this trip, but I am looking forward to enjoying some of the most beautiful vistas our nation has to offer. Our adventure begins tomorrow.
